Wherify Responds to Meet Domestic and International Market Demand

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 2005--Wherify Wireless, Inc. -- Wherify has entered into a definitive agreement and plan of merger with IQ Biometrix, Inc. (OTCBB:IQBX - News) -- today announced that it has received its first limited production run of the Wherifone(TM) GPS Locator Phone(TM), passing a critical manufacturing milestone that positions the firm to tap domestic and international demand for its award-winning cell phone. Wherify is sending initial production units to current and prospective partners in the United States, Canada, France, South Africa, China, the Middle East and Brazil. The Wherifone is the world's smallest GSM/GPS Locator Phone and provides a totally unique and affordable way for families with pre-teens, seniors, or those with special medical needs, to stay connected and in contact with each other. The Wherifone gives them the ability to both communicate and identify the physical location of their loved ones. The Wherifone will be available in 2Q 2005.

"We're very pleased to announce this milestone as we start to ramp up for mass production. This positions us to fully support the demand we're seeing for the Wherifone around the world," said Timothy Neher, CEO of Wherify. "We feel that the combination of voice calling over GSM/GPRS with GPS location is uniquely valuable, and will make the Wherifone especially interesting to parents looking to give their pre-teen child their first phone. Not only will the Wherifone let parent and child call each other, but parents can know the precise location of their child at any time. With the significant interest we are seeing around the world, we're confident that we'll be able to hit our customer targets this year, and help drive the emerging pre-teen phone market."

About the Wherifone

Whether used as a "First Phone" for pre-teens or as a "Companion Phone" for seniors or special needs family members, the Wherifone provides affordable peace-of-mind to the modern mobile family. The slim, small and lightweight Tri-Band GSM cell phone is about the size of a business card and weighs under 2.5 ounces. It features incoming and outgoing calling, five programmable buttons for easy one-touch dialing by children and seniors, a built-in two-way speakerphone, a headset jack, and a backlit LCD display. The absence of a traditional dial pad helps parents and caregivers manage the expense of out-going calls, and provides ease-of-use. The cell phone is supported by a Location Service Center which can be accessed 24 X 7 by telephone or the Internet to retrieve a precise location using Enhanced-GPS technology, which can be plotted on both street maps and aerial photographs. Wherify's patented integration of digital wireless and global positioning technologies provides an unprecedented level of location performance that does not require satellite line-of-sight, and can pinpoint a device's location with a high degree of accuracy inside most vehicles, homes or offices.

Small businesses can also use the Wherifone to manage and communicate with mobile workers, and to manage the location of small fleets of trucks or delivery vehicles and coordinate dispatch destinations with drivers. The preprogrammed one-touch dialing buttons also help the small business owner manage communications expenses. The absence of a traditional dial pad prevents workers from using the Wherifone for personal calls and incurring unauthorized expenses, while at the same time insuring they can make necessary calls to up to five pre-defined locations.
